Do The Honours
Many people in Essex give exceptional service to their communities. Their efforts are
often only known to a small number of people - until they are recognised through
the national honours scheme.
Do The Honours for Essex is a campaign that aims to encourage more nominations for honours for those Essex people who make that significant contribution.
The honours system recognises merit and service to communities or to the nation.
There are several different types of award, each one recognising a different type of
contribution.
Honours lists are published twice a year at New Year and in mid-June on the date of
The Queen's official birthday. Anyone can receive an award if they reach the required
standard of merit or service and anyone can nominate someone for an award.
Let’s help recognise those who are exceptional - Do The Honours for Essex.

“Honours recognise the achievements of ordinary
people who do extraordinary things. We want to see
more successful nominations for Essex people whose
efforts have been of significant benefit to the community"
